BIBl/HNRS 4993/3823 The Life and Witness of Peter
BIBL1033 Biblical Literature This course surveys the content and theological message of biblical story. Special emphasis is placed on considering the biblical story of redemption as a unified and coherent narrative of God’s ongoing work within his kingdom. Understanding the Bible within historical, cultural, and literary settings is highlighted. Throughout the course the students will begin to develop skills in interpreting the Bible with care and wisdom as well as move toward finding and articulating their place within God’s story of redemption.
BIBL 3653 Romans A exegetical study of the book of Romans in its socio-historical setting. Literary structure, analysis of theological argumentation, hermeneutical considerations, and personal applications are included.

BIBL4993 HNRS3823 The Life and Witness of Peter
GREE1113 Elementary Greek I A media-driven study of Koine Greek. Included are mastery of essential features of Greek, basic sounds and structural patterns, and acquisition of a nucleus of vocabulary. Sample translations from Scripture are included.
HNRS2043 Biblical Theology for Christian Living An introduction to the relationship between Christian teaching and the Christian life. This course focuses on the way in which the identity of God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit sharpens our understanding of the coherence of the Bible, the purpose for creation (and by extension humans), the meaning of salvation, the place of work, and the basis for ethics. Special attention is given to sustained analysis of biblical texts, attending to the way in which the biblical witness integrates theology and ethics, faith and work, worship and discipleship. This course is the Honors College equivalent of THEO 2043, and fulfills the requirement for that course
